Reconnected River Walk

At present the River walk between Putney and Hammersmith is broken, and is diverted around Craven Cottage via Stevenage Road. Our proposal will create a new pedestrian path along the River Thames that will be open and accessible to the general public and extends the River walk. Following feedback received at the second consultation the width of the walkway has been increased, without further encroachment into the River Thames. The new River walk will be cantilevered over the river to maintain existing flood capacity.

Stadium Access and Egress

At the first and second consultation exhibitions a lot of people asked us to introduce direct access from the stadium onto the River walk. This will help reduce crowd congestion on matchdays.

Riverside Navigation

Fender piles will be constructed as part of the river wall to protect river craft.
